Grassland

Grassland is the term given an area in which grasses (Graminae) are a significant component of the vegetation. Grasslands are very varied; they can be found in most terrestrial climates. Grassland vegetation can be short, as in chalk downland, or tall - as in the case of south American grasslands and African savannah.
